Sadibou Sy is a lifelong martial artist, having 5 World Titles and 90 fights before he ever stepped foot into the cage. With this knowledge I wasn’t the least bit surprised when he predicted that everyone should expect a “banger” on the night of November 25th when he fights Dilano Taylor in the PFL Welterweight Finals. Both Sy and his opponent Taylor have notable wins over UFC star Rory MacDonald inside the PFL cage.
Leading up to this fight Sy has been working with nutritionist Jack Doherty, which leaves “his body feeling better. Cutting out all junk food for the time of fight camp.”
Digging deeper into the mental aspect of the game Sy informed me that he has recently moved from Sweden to Las Vegas for the PFL season which left him in a bit of solitude. Getting used to the new environment as well as losing the comfort of family and friends always being around served as an obstacle. He mentioned working with a sports psychologist as well as how much praying is a part of his daily routine. When asked what his “Why” was, Sy was at no loss for words. He does this for his family, for his wife. Sy enjoys being an inspiration for others while chasing his dream. He aspires to prove to himself how great he can be in every aspect of life, not just in the martial arts.
This fight has been predicted as a possible fight of the night from both competitors. I look forward to seeing fireworks in this Welterweight Title Fight. To watch the fight, tune in to ESPN+ at 6 p.m. ET, then move to ESPN+ PPV starting at 8. The event will be hosted at Madison Square Garden in NYC, but your tickets online.
